Re: Outstanding Kennel Care of our Family Members - Belle and Mac Tidey

The purpose of this letter is to throw you both a huge ‘bouquet’ in recognition of the outstanding work you are both doing the roles you have in this busy establishment.

As you know, Rex and I moved to the Waikato a year ago and in the past had been able to secure ‘house sitters’ when needed. Circumstances were such that our hand was forced to kennel our dogs and so on the recommendation of Cambridge Vet Clinic we have supported your Kennel ever since.

As on previous occasions, it was a joy to collect them today (after having been away for 10 days), and to see them so fit, lively and happy makes us feel less guilty about having to leave them behind when we have to.

It’s evident to us that they relate/respond well to you both and your positive feedback on how well behaved they are, is appreciated. We feel you are on the same wave length as us in terms of their needs and we are reassured that all is well when you tell us little tit bits about their days with you.

The fact that you treat them as they were your own is the icing on the cake. We recognize the high standards you have and it’s a joy to see you ‘walk the talk’. We don’t have children and so Belle & Mac are special to us. We trust you both implicitly with them and that in itself is a value we uphold dearly.

The hours you have in place for morning and afternoon drop-offs and pick ups provides us with the boundaries in which we can work with you. We respect the hours you have set, as you need down time to do all those ‘doggy things’ during the day.

Plus the dogs also get some downtime from constant interruptions as well. In fact, the hours set have helped us organize and plan ourselves a bit better when we go away, so well done.

In summary, thank you both for being who you are. It’s such a relief to know that we have you in the Waikato. You have our continued support and we are sure the same can be said for others with similar standards and expectations.

We left our pets, two cats and a dog with Kaye at Karapiro Pet Lodge when we returned to the UK in September. They were not due to fly until mid February so we needed to know they would be in good hands. After looking at numerous local, and not so local options (Auckland & Palmerston North) we decided that the facilities at Karapiro Pet Lodge where by far the best with a large outside run for the dog & an inside kennel for night time along with an area to socialise with other dogs. The cattery was by far the largest and cleanest we had seen and all the cats seemed contented. As for Kaye herself we could not have asked for a better person to look after our pets. We had regular updates including photos and all our questions were answered promptly.

She also arranged to ship the pets back to the UK for us and coordinated this so well that all I needed to do was pay the company that exported them to the UK for us. She even went the extra mile and washed our dog before it left so as to make it more comfortable and ensure it arrived in the UK in top condition.

All in all I cannot recommend Kaye and Karapiro Pet Lodge highly enough and can find no fault in the service we received from them from start to finish.

I only hope we can find somewhere as good or nearly as good here in the UK if we ever need to leave our pets again.

Just a quick email to say how happy we were with your kennels and the care our dogs received
while they were there. It is one of the best kennels they have being to for a long time and I will
